The Complete GDP Course Overview
The Complete GDP series of courses teaches dentists how to examine, diagnose, treatment-plan, and treat every patient.
Covering simple to complex cases, the course is taught over three comprehensive two-day modules, with the majority of time focussed on hands-on training and implementation.

Course Structure
The Complete GDP Course is designed to maximise learning and implementation. The majority of classroom time is devoted to hands-on exercises.
Interactive Pre-Course Webinar
Each course starts with a pre-course webinar to give you a theoretical overview, followed by an in-depth Q&A session. This ensures that basic theory is covered before the course so that your time in the classroom can focus on practical work.
During the two day course, you will primarily carry out hands-on exercises from the curriculum and gain continual feedback, along with further supporting theory.
Post-Course Assignment
Immediate implementation is key to successful learning and the development of new skills. So, after each course, you will put what you have learnt into practice before presenting to the group at the next session.
Online Mentoring
As part of the course, you will get access to online mentoring for a patient case of your choosing. You will be coached through the case from start to finish to build your confidence in achieving excellent clinical outcomes.

Module 2: Predictable Treatment Planning

This course explores a step-by-step process for predictable treatment planning.
This program will work through different treatment planning situations, including localised anterior tooth wear, generalised tooth wear, and ortho-restorative cases.
We will examine different treatment options, including reshaping restorations and provisional restorations (equilibration), repositioning (orthodontics), restorative and surgical.
There will also be an opportunity for delegates to present and discuss their cases.

The interactive webinar allows delegates to access the information needed to understand a step-by-step treatment planning process.
Starting with 2D smile design to enhance patient engagement and education, we will then discuss 3D design (diagnostic wax-up) to understand how the teeth need to fit in the patient’s face to achieve optimum health, function and aesthetics.

Module 3: Aesthetic and Restorative Principles

In this final module, we will explore a structured approach to contouring and polishing restorations.
We will investigate the different approaches to restoration techniques and preparation approaches, including direct vs indirect restorations, minimal and no-prep restorations and adhesive vs traditional preparation approaches and much more.

Meet the Trainers
Lead instructor - Dr Ian Buckle
Dr Ian Buckle graduated from Liverpool University in 1985 and stayed close by in Thornton Hough on Wirral, where he continues to practice at Buckle Advanced Dental Care.
Ian has committed to spending a third of his professional hours supporting and educating fellow professionals.
In pursuit of this, he designs and teaches practical courses for dentistry’s core curriculum and is a regular study club and seminar host. He is also a sought-after international speaker on aesthetic and functional dentistry.
Ian is an active member of the Association of Dental Implantology, the British Dental Association, and both the British and American Academies of Dental Implantology
Dr Chris Dakin
Chris Dakin graduated from the University of Birmingham School of Dentistry in 2002 and went on to gain his MFGDP(UK) from the Royal College of Surgeons in England in 2005.
He has undertaken extensive postgraduate training and several teaching roles, including a part-time clinical lecturing post with the University of Birmingham School of Dentistry.
Neil Harris
Neil Harris graduated from Cardiff University Dental School in 1993 and quickly went on to build a name as one of the UK’s leading cosmetic dentists.
Neil is the former director of the British Association of Cosmetic Dentistry. He completes around 150 hours of training each year and is a prolific lecturer on the international circuit.
