Course Structure

The Complete GDP Course is designed to maximise learning and implementation.
The majority of classroom time is devoted to hands-on exercises.

Interactive
Pre-Course Webinar

Each course starts with a pre-course webinar to give you a theoretical overview, followed by an in-depth Q&A session. This ensures that basic theory is covered before the course so that your time in the classroom can focus on practical work.

Two-Day
Hands-On

During the two day course, you will primarily carry out hands-on exercises from the curriculum and gain continual feedback, along with further supporting theory.

Post-Course Assignment

Immediate implementation is key to successful learning and the development of new skills. So, after each course, you will put what you have learnt into practice before presenting to the group at the next session.

Online
Mentoring

As part of the course, you will get access to online mentoring for a patient case of your choosing. You will be coached through the case from start to finish to build your confidence in achieving excellent clinical outcomes.

Module 1: Records & Splints - Getting to “YES”

 21st & 22nd May 2021

A comprehensive examination is the basis of every treatment plan. It is also the key to avoiding failure and managing patient expectations.

Post-course online mentoring is available to support you when integrating new skills into your daily practice.

Interactive Webinar with Q&A

This interactive webinar allows delegates to access the information needed to carry out a comprehensive examination, understand the patient journey, keep the records required for predictable treatment planning, and understand splint therapy basics.

  • How to find and record a stable condylar position (centric relation)
  • How and when to mount models – analogue and digital
  • Patient communication – summary of findings
  • How to discover if the patient is a “biological” or “comprehensive” patient
  • Smile design basics and how to use digital technology to help the patient understand the possibilities quickly
  • The power of the Additive Mockup Smile (ADDm©)
  • Which splint to use in every situation
  • How to fabricate, fit and adjust a midpoint splint
  • How to fabricate, fit and adjust a full coverage splint

Module 2: Predictable Treatment Planning

9th & 10th July 2021

This course explores a step-by-step process for predictable treatment planning.

This program will work through different treatment planning situations, including localised anterior tooth wear, generalised tooth wear, and ortho-restorative cases.

We will examine different treatment options, including reshaping restorations and provisional restorations (equilibration), repositioning (orthodontics), restorative and surgical.

There will also be an opportunity for delegates to present and discuss their cases.

Interactive Webinar with Q&A

The interactive webinar allows delegates to access the information needed to understand a step-by-step treatment planning process.

Starting with 2D smile design to enhance patient engagement and education, we will then discuss 3D design (diagnostic wax-up) to understand how the teeth need to fit in the patient’s face to achieve optimum health, function and aesthetics.
CUSTOM JAVASCRIPT / HTML

  • A step-by-step approach to 2D treatment planning (smile design)
  • How to use this information to develop the Additive Mockup Smile (AMS) - trial smile
  • How to use the AMS to perfect upper incisal edge position, lower incisal edge position and vertical dimension
  • How to use this information to create a 3D Diagnostic wax-up that satisfies all the patient’s functional and aesthetic requirements
  • How to communicate with the digital dental technician to create the digital wax-up
  • Why printing the wax-up will make the process more efficient, productive and affordable
  • How to work with other team members so that you spend your time most effectively

Module 3: Aesthetic and Restorative Principles
